Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be a proud man after the manner in which his side fared against Chelsea in the opening weekend of the Premier League.

Manchester United scored four goals via Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Daniel James in order to attain the second-spot in the Premier League table.

While it is their offensive excellence that has been heralded after the full-time whistle, the fact that the Red Devils emerged with a cleansheet is a huge testament to their defensive prowess as well.

The catalyst behind this change has to be the fresh presence of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka within their backline- necessary summer investments that now seem to be crucial going ahead.

Solskjaer took key focus of this and mentioned their impact after the full-time whistle.

About Maguire, the Norwegian stated the following: “Maguire? He’s done exactly what we signed him for. His presence in both boxes, and he’s a leader.”

Maguire certainly displayed all of these skills and it is fair to say that a few more games with United and a steady period of time to adjust to the lineup will be enough for the Englishman to script more success stories with the Red Devils.

About the combined effect of their new signings, Solskjaer commented as follows: “I can see they (Maguire & AWB) are not phased by the price-tags. Football’s gone crazy but that’s just the market. They have cool heads on their shoulders. Harry has played with many of these players before. When you’re a good player you fit in straight away.”

Fans certainly share this opinion and the manner in which they took control of the pitch at Old Trafford on Sunday is a testament to the same.

‘More of the same’, is bound to be the cry from supporters who may now dare to dream once again.
