Manchester United’s season has started on the wrong footing. After the massive win against Chelsea, the Red Devils have failed to find a consistent winning spell again, with the recent loss to West Ham United in the Premier League an ample indication that there is a lot of work still to be done at the club.

Following the defeat, social media was riddled with cries to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. At the same time, it is widely believed that the United board have decided to place their trust in the Norwegian gaffer for the full-season and will entrust him with at least one more transfer window.

However, what matters is whether or not the higher-ups are also willing to splash the requisite cash on the right talents during the aforementioned windows.

Bringing in fresh players and developing them seems to be the perfect way to go forward and now United are informed of the dizzying amount of money they must spend in order to achieve the same.

According to the Express, Manchester United have been told that German wonderkid Kai Havertz will cost them upwards of £90 million in the subsequent transfer windows.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been a rising talent with Bayer Leverkusen who are now eager to cash in on him. Their interest is aptly-placed as Europeans giants like Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester City are all thought to be keeping tabs on his availability.

As of such, it won’t be an easy transfer for Solskjaer to secure. Then again, the club is incentivized to splash such cash on him given his potential and the fact that they require young talent to rebuild their squad.

Leverkusen’s alleged power comes from the fact that the youngster still has three years left on his contract and has impressive numbers from last season to merit such a blockbuster transfer fee.
