The recent days of transfer news have certainly pegged Man Utd to be eyeing quite a lot of deals.

While prospective young forwards and midfielders dot most of the murmur surrounding the Red Devils, concrete updates are still elusive. Further, a wide degree of progress and agreements in place appear to be the case too.

This is certainly intriguing given that the club may not even invest that heavily come summer and could easily try to work with their existing options.

Regardless, now United appear to be eyeing a brilliant centre-back.

As per the Mirror, Man Utd are ready to step up their efforts to sign Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar. It appears that the Serie A outfit’s decision to cash in on the defender and sell him in the upcoming transfer window has motivated United to go ahead.

Further, the report adds that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking at the 25-year-old primarily to partner him alongside Harry Maguire in the heart of United’s defense.

With his contract at Milan running until 2023, the Italian side does have massive bargaining power at their disposal. For the time being, the report claims that the Slovakian international is being priced at £52.5 million.

In this regard, United’s main competition for the defender’s signature is Real Madrid who are also eyeing him strongly, in a bid to acquire a long-term replacement for Sergio Ramos.

Apart from the two European giants, the likes of Barcelona and Man City also expressed a desire to go for the player but are not actively in the race at this point in time.

If true, this claim may have heavy repercussions for the futures of Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly at Old Trafford, not to mention the hopes of youngsters like Axel Tuanzebe.
