Young blood certainly appears to have taken over football once more. However, the manner is seldom the academy graduate path that is often hailed and cemented upon the hearts of supporters.

While an upward rise and ascent through the youth ranks is still a major part of these stories, a wide number of the more prominent ones have a financial lift.

As clubs are becoming more and more eager on developing and attracting the best young talent across the globe, the intent is clear – develop and sell for big.

Borussia Dortmund has become the latest name to start doing this on a regular basis and now Jadon Sancho appears to be on the cusp of becoming their next best investment.

Or at least that is what football corresponded David Ornstein believes. Speaking on the Ornstein & Chapman Podcast, the pundit opined: “Sancho was expecting to move this summer and there’s still a very high chance that will happen.”

The youngster had been the subject of a wide range of interest from European giants after his breakthrough season in the Bundesliga since making the mark up from Man City’s youth academy.

Ornstein goes on to add: “There’s an understanding between Sancho and Borussia Dortmund that if the right price arrives then he can go. There is confidence among his camp that an offer will arrive, they almost have no doubt about that.”

At the moment, Man United appear to be the most interested and likely party to secure the young Englishman’s signature. They have been reported to be in a prime position to make the deal from a while now.

However, the economic ramifications will also be bearing heavily on their minds, particularly since Sancho’s potential transfer fee will certainly break records.
