Man United To Offer Sanchez To Dortmund In Their Bid To Sign Sancho
Jadon Sancho to Man United is rapidly becoming the saga that will highlight the upcoming summer transfer window.
While the youngster has been on the radar of the Red Devils for a while now, his stellar showings at Borussia Dortmund has attracted the interest of numerous clubs from across Europe.
The narrative has largely painted the notion that Sancho will be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s prime target in the next transfer window and that the club is adamant to secure his signature.
In that regard, they are touted to try the usual cocktail of financial tricks to soften the deal.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Man United will look to offer Alexis Sanchez to Borussia Dortmund in order to lower Sancho’s potential asking price.
The 20-year-old forward is expected to cost any purchaser upwards of £100 million.
Sanchez, who had a dismal spell at Old Trafford, is currently serving out a loan at Inter Milan where he has been likewise lackluster.
The Chilean had featured in an earlier claim which suggested that United would be looking to sell him and Chris Smalling in order to raise the requisite funds for the Sancho acquisition. However, offering the former Arsenal and Barcelona player to Dortmund itself is a new alleged development.
However, the poignant flaw in this regard is the player’s enormous wages, running into the £500,000-a-week range.
It is unclear whether or not Dortmund will be willing to match the same, especially since other reports had indicated that the Bundesliga club was looking at other options to replace Sancho, if the need arose.
Interestingly, Sanchez had arrived at Old Trafford as part of a swap deal with Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a former Borussia Dortmund star. Could the reverse now be on the cards in a few months?
