Andreas Pereira Calls James Milner and Virgil van Dijk ‘Arrogant’
Andreas Pereira’s time at Manchester United has been one of constantly trying to find his place in the roster. After numerous loan spells, the 24-year-old Belgium-born Brazilian has still not succeeded in cementing a regular spot under several managerial regimes and his future is in some doubt.
There is a section of United supporters who view him alongside Jesse Lingard to be a player that the club ought to release in order to best clear the roster and the wage bill. Despite that, his cameo appearances this campaign has been the most he has been able to muster as a Red Devil.
However, a recent comment from the central attacking midfielder is certainly in line with what is to be expected from a true Old Trafford faithful.
Speaking to the Desimpedidos YouTube channel, Pereira had a strong assessment of a couple of Liverpool players.
When quizzed about the most arrogant players he has faced during his career, Pereira replied: “I don’t really like that guy, Milner. And to tell you the truth, I don’t like that guy, the defender, Van Dijk. [He is] Marrento [arrogant/cocky], man. Even the way he plays is kind of arrogant.”
The ‘cocky’ duo lifted the Premier League title not too long ago and Liverpool’s triumphs are bound to not go down too well amongst United players.
When asked about the exact opposite kind of players, it was David Luiz and Willian, his Brazilian teammates, whom Pereira chose to name and praise.
Although the Brazilian himself has a relatively long-term contract at hand, the arrival of Bruno Fernandes and the fitness of Paul Pogba really doesn’t leave him many other spots to target and make his own.
He has said before that he wouldn’t leave Manchester United for any other club in England and comments like this prove that Liverpool will certainly not see him amongst their roster.
