Man Utd may have a deal in place to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

The Sancho saga was long thought to be a closed affair at least for this summer. It was established that the Red Devils were not willing to pay the enormous transfer fee that Dortmund were asking for the starlet’s signature and as such the deal was stuck in limbo.

The Old Trafford side going ahead and acquiring Donny van de Beek from Ajax seemed to have further shifted attention from this saga as well.

However, there is now a new update that United fans will be eager to hear.

According to The Transfer Window Podcast, Man Utd have agreements in place with both Jadon Sancho and Borussia Dortmund over a transfer. It is stressed that the Red Devils are “very comfortable” in their position regarding the deal.

The source further adds that all parties on Sancho’s side, particularly his representatives, were intentionally waiting.

The English starlet was set to receive contractual bonuses upon reaching one-year of signing his terms with Dortmund as well as receiving a certain number of England caps. As such, the player is thought to be waiting to collect these bonuses from the Bundesliga side.

Sancho is presently plying his trade with England against Denmark in the UEFA Nations League.

It will be interesting to see if this latest twist proves to be a turning point in the transfer saga. It is still not clear whether United are now willing to pay the amount that Dortmund were adamant at, especially given that the COVID-19 pandemic-forced financial realities haven’t changed.
