Marcus Rashford’s stoppage-time winner against Wolves handed Manchester United back-to-back league wins at Old Trafford for the first time this season.

Bruno Fernandes found the Englishman with a long-pass, who then managed to cut inside the Wolves defence and smash it past Rui Patricio via a lucky deflection from Romain Saiss.

This was the Portuguese midfielder’s 14th assist since he made his debut in the Premier League – more than any other player in the competition. However, apart from his all important assist, Fernandes was below par for the large portions of the game.

But this time the former Sporting Lisbon captain managed to win over Manchester United supporters with his passionate reaction to Rashford’s winner.

While Fernandes is going toe-to-toe with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Kevin De Bruyne and Harry Kane on Premier League’s goal involvement charts, his team now sit just two points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will welcome Aston Villa at Old Trafford next – another team who are raising eyebrows with their position in the league table as they find themselves 5th, and above the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham.

And Manchester United will probably need more than just one good pass from Bruno Fernandes to upstage Aston Villa, who are led by another world class play maker in Jack Grealish.
