England ‘Man of the Match’ Jesse Lingard Could Return To The United First-Team
West Ham star Jesse Lingard has been one of the best performing English players since the beginning of February.
A loan move to London from Manchester has worked wonders for Lingard. The 28-year-old has been directly involved in seven goals in as many Premier League appearances for the Hammers, leading to a return to England setup for the first time since the UEFA Nations League Finals in June 2019.
His fine form has continued under Gareth Southgate as well. The attacking midfielder shined in the Three Lions’ 5-0 win over San Marino, earning the Man of the Match award at Wembley.
Further, this resurgence in form has opened doors for a potential return to Old Trafford, as per the Sun.

Lingard has managed to impress Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – his long time fan – with his spell at West Ham. Not only does this development provides the United academy graduate with an opportunity to get back into first-team plans, but it could also earn him a new contract.
With only a little more than a year left on Lingard’s existing contract, the Premier League giants could be willing to offer him a new three-year deal.
The extension will strengthen United’s position in the transfer market when negotiating a selling fee for the versatile playmaker, as David Moyes’ side are expected to try to keep him at the London Stadium beyond his loan spell.
