Man United Close To ‘Finalising A Deal’ For Varane After Announcing Sancho Transfer
Man United have made significant progress in their attempt to sign Raphael Varane after officially agreeing a deal for the transfer of Jadon Sancho.
Borussia Dortmund have announced that an agreement in principle has been reached with their English counterpart for the transfer of Jadon Sancho. The transfer will be completed once Sancho’s involvement in the Euros with England is over.
Now, it seems football director John Murtough is in no mood of wasting any time, with talks for another target understood to be in advanced stages.
According to ESPN, United are close to finalising a deal to sign Varane, their top defensive target of this transfer window, from Real Madrid.
The French centre-back’s contract in the Spanish capital is due to run until the summer of 2022, with the Red Devils receiving encouragement that Los Blancos are open to negotiate a realistic fee for the 28-year-old.
As such, the Premier League giants are confident that they can acquire the 2018 World Cup winner for a fee in the region of €50m – a bargain price-tag for a player with a high profile.
While there’s no time frame in place for the conclusion of a transfer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would certainly be delighted if United manage to secure two huge names before the start of pre-season training.
Since, Varane’s Euro 2020 adventure is already over after France’s exit at the hands of Switzerland, a quick conclusion to this transfer saga isn’t far-fetched.
