Tahith Chong has been already allowed to join Birmingham City on loan, and now another Manchester United academy star is set for an exit but on a permanent basis.

Charlie McCann will join Steven Gerrard led Rangers for a fee reported to be in the region of £750,000.

The 19-year-old, who played for United’s 23s last season, is expected to initially join the Rangers B team. But due to less competition for the midfield places in Glasgow in comparison to Manchester, he will have a better chance of getting into the senior side.

The presence of Liverpool’s legendary midfielder at the helm of Scottish champions might’ve also played a role in McCann’s decision to move to Scotland.

Incidentally, the Liverpool connection doesn’t end just there. French outlet Le10Sport claim that Mino Raiola has offered his client Paul Pogba to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are looking for a new midfielder to replace Georginio Wijnaldum. However, the Reds are not interested in making any move for the Frenchman this summer, but might reconsider their position in January if his contract situation remains unresolved at United.

Both United and Liverpool remain interested in Saul Niguez. Now that Pogba’s name has been linked with the Merseyside outfit, his future could have a big say in the Atletico Madrid midfielder’s next destination.
