Facundo Pellistri Leaves Manchester United On Another Loan
Facundo Pellistri has left Manchester United to rejoin Deportivo Alaves on a season-long loan.
Pellistri’s last spell with the La Liga side was viewed as an ‘outstanding success’, with the Uruguayan forward making 12 appearances after joining the club in January. He also produced a Man of the Match performance against Atletico Madrid, the eventual Spanish champions.
As such, despite the 19-year-old’s impressive pre-season outing, the Red Devils have deemed another loan spell right for his development.
Further, as per Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish outfit do not have a buy option, and will be paying Pellistri’s full salary during the period of loan.
Alaves, who were very keen to bring back the youngster, host Real Madrid on the opening day of La Liga. As such, Pellistri would hope to make Javier Calleja’s starting lineup on August 14, as any impact against Los Blancos will ensure he cements his place as an important player at Mendizorroza from the get go.
Meanwhile at United’s training camp, Pellistri’s departure won’t make any noticeable difference, despite his two goals involvement in the summer as Jadon Sancho will join the pre-season training from Friday.
Considering how stacked they are in the attacking department, the Premier League giants will hope to secure more temporary and permanent exits for players who are not part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans for the next campaign.
Anthony Elanga has also been missing from the training camp in Scotland, but this is believed to be due to a minor injury. However, he could also follow Tahith Chong and Pellistri out of Old Trafford this summer.
