Cristiano Ronaldo Has Already Informed His New Teammates What He Wants At United
Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in England on Friday and was greeted by former teammate and the club’s technical director Darren Fletcher on arrival at Manchester airport. He’s expected to start training with his new teammates next week.
Despite his 29 league goals for Juventus last season, the highest in Serie A and five more than Chelsea’s record signing Romelu Lukaku, doubts have been raised regarding the sort of impact the 36-year-old can have in his second act with the Red Devils.
However, Manchester United’s new number 7 continues to maintain his exploits both on and off the pitch.
Earlier this week, the Portuguese icon scored a late brace to secure his country’s comeback against the Republic of Ireland. He also became the greatest goalscorer of all-time in men’s international football in the process.
Meanwhile, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner also remains focused on his targets at United and has already informed his new teammates just what he wants to achieve after returning to the Theatre of Dreams after 12 years.
According to the Sun, he got in touch with United players through national teammate Bruno Fernandes, revealing his desire to win the Premier League title again.
A source told the newspaper: “The players are so excited about the arrival of Ronaldo. They have been given this huge boost, and they feel very confident.
“The players and coaching staff now believe they have the best squad in the league and can win the Premier League this season.
“Ronaldo has also spoken to Bruno Fernandes and told him to tell the other players that they need to win it this year.”
Everyone at Carrington is ‘electrified’ with Ronaldo’s arrival, and with his inclusion, alongside Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho, there’s no reason for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to not aim to dethrone defending league champions Manchester City.
