United Hold Talks With Premier League Striker’s Representatives To Replace Ronaldo
Manchester United are preparing for Cristiano Ronaldo’s potential exit, having held talks with Richarlison’s representatives.
Ronaldo is going through a rough patch in 2022. The 37-year-old has only managed to score once this year, and now finds himself on the sidelines after struggling with his hip flexor.
The Portuguese missed the Manchester derby, and it seems he’s not going to be available for Tottenham Hotspur clash on Saturday too, as he couldn’t take part in United training on Tuesday. Much like his match availability, Ronaldo’s long-term future at Old Trafford is also uncertain.
According to Caught Offside (via the Sun), United are considering a summer move for Richarlison to replace Ronaldo next season. It is further reported that the Premier League giants have discussed the possibility of a summer switch with the Brazilian’s representatives.
Everton are expected to demand around £65m for the 24-year-old versatile forward. However, with Frank Lampard’s side involved in the relegation battle, a drop down to the Championship would force Everton to lower their asking price.
Like Ronaldo, Richarlison has also bagged just one goal in the league this year, and irrespective of his price tag, the Brazil international’s signing isn’t going to be an answer to United’s issues upfront.
