Man United are weighing up a move for Yassine Bounou this summer after watching the Sevilla goalkeeper for several months.

Bounou, 30, has been one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga this season, with Sevilla conceding the least amount of goals so far in the campaign.

The Canada-born Morrocco international has just over two years left to run on his current contract, and as per the Mirror, United have asked to be kept informed over the future of Anthony Martial’s teammate.

Atletico Madrid and a number of Italian clubs are also keen to sign Bounou. His release clause is thought to be worth around £25m.

With David de Gea’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2023, United may be tempted to sell him and bring in a new shot-stopper depending on their next managerial appointment.

The Spaniard’s lack of ability in possession has resulted in questions over his future at Old Trafford.

The 31-year-old has been dropped from the Spain squad by Luis Enrique as he doesn’t suit his side’s style of play. Unai Simon is Spain’s new no. 1, while Premier League duo of Roberto Sanchez and David Raya have been called up to fill the two remaining goalkeeping spots for the upcoming international friendlies.
