Man Utd have cooled down their interest in multiple transfer targets following their win against Liverpool, but could agree a deal for their fifth signing of the summer this week.

Before Liverpool’s visit to Old Trafford, it was suggested that United are pushing to sign Antony, Cody Gakpo as well as Frenkie de Jong.

But on Wednesday, The Athletic reported that De Jong’s pursuit is considered done, as Casemiro – who was unveiled in front of the crowd at the Theatre of Dreams – is seen as the Netherlands international’s alternative.

Further, the hope that the Red Devils could sign both Antony and Gakpo is also reducing.

It is now understood that United are focused on securing Ajax star’s services. As per Sky Sports, they are prepared to raise their offer for the Brazilian winger to around €94m including add-ons.

Their bid of €80m for the 22-year-old was rejected last week. However, sources close to the negotiations are hopeful a deal can be agreed in the coming days, as the new offer would see the Amsterdam outfit receive more money up front.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed United have agreed personal terms with Antony, who is pushing to join Ten Hag. The Dutch coach has already signed Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro.
