Man United Want To Sign Championship Star – Deal Could Be Done For £10m
Erik ten Hag wants another right-back to challenge Diogo Dalot, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka out of favour under the Man United manager.
The Dutchman praised Dalot following his contribution at both ends of the pitch in his side’s 1-0 win over West Ham on Saturday. However, during the post-match interview, Ten Hag also made a plea for “two good full-backs [on the left and the right].”
Dalot has become a guaranteed starter at United this season, with Wan-Bissaka making just one appearance – a 4-minute cameo off the bench against Liverpool.
The Englishman isn’t viewed as an ideal right-back for Ten Hag’s system, leading to Dalot starting every United game so far this campaign. But that cannot continue, as he will need both rest and competition to ensure effective performances.
The Red Devils are exploring possible challengers for the right-back spot, and according to The Sun, they are weighing up a January move for Max Aarons.
The 22-year-old has long been on United’s radar and was scouted by eight clubs, including Ten Hag’s side, during England Under-21s win over Germany in September. The Championship star is valued at £10m by Norwich City.
But he’s not the only option, with the Premier League giants also keeping tabs on Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.
