Manchester United are signing Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley. But they could lose one of their forwards to an English side before the end of the winter window.

United, Weghorst’s parent club Burnley, and Besiktas, where he spent the first half of the season on loan, have reached an agreement that will see the Dutch striker move to Old Trafford. He’s now heading to Manchester for a medical and if everything goes as per plan, he will be registered in time to face Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

While Weghorst could make his first appearance in a Red shirt in the Manchester derby, another United forward could leave the club after making his debut against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday.

Facundo Pellistri came off the bench in the second half of the League Cup tie to feature for the senior side more than two years after moving to Manchester from Uruguayan club, Penarol. The 21-year-old assisted Marcus Rashford’s first goal in his side’s 3-0 win.

Pellistri’s cameo appearance was enough to show that he deserves more minutes at United. However, his next senior appearance could be for another English side.

According to the Telegraph, Watford are hoping to sign him on loan for the remainder of the season. Slaven Bilic is keen to sign the right-sided forward to strengthen his squad amid injuries to key players, including Joao Pedro.

It’s not going to be easy for Watford to sign the talented star, as they will face strong competition from a host of clubs in England and around Europe should United allow Pellistri to leave temporarily. He has already experienced two loan spells in La Liga.
