“Perfect next step” – Forward sends message to Manchester United after transfer
Manchester United have to make some strong transfer decisions this summer. Financial restrictions have meant that the club has to sell before they make the decisive purchases to plug holes in their existing roster. However, there has also been a need to clear the deadwood off the bench and the side has been making big moves in that regard.
The most decisive of these has been the recent transfer of Anthony Elanga to Nottingham Forest. The 20-year-old forward makes the switch after being a successful product of the club’s youth setup and also having enjoyed a couple of breakthrough seasons with the Red Devils.
Ralf Ragnick seemed to be the unlikely temporary saviour for the starlet who since fell out of the starting lineup. Now, it seems that this move to the PL side will be an assured sign of regular game time.
Anthony Elanga thanks Manchester United after transfer
Announcing his farewell on Instagram, Elanga was grateful to the club and its supporters, reminiscing about what the rise from the youth setup meant to him.
“From the moment that I watched a game from the Stretford End as a young boy I’ve known that United fans are special,” said the Swedish international.

However, Elanga was also clear about what lay next for his future, stating: “It is the right time now for the perfect next step in my career. I’m someone who lives for football and I need to be on the pitch every week doing what I love.”
It is clear that gametime is increasingly becoming a prime need both for young players and talent on the fringes. As such, while the chants of “Rhythm is a Dancer” will not be regularly heard at Old Trafford from now on, it is possible that other youngsters may pick up on this rhythm and follow suit.
