Jose Mourinho is interested in joining surprise club – he’s already learning new language
Jose Mourinho is without a club after AS Roma decided to part ways with the Special One.
The Giallorossi endured a difficult 2023/24 season under the Portuguese and decided to replace him with Daniele De Rossi in January. Despite a sour ending, Mourinho’s stint in the Italian capital was special, as he led them to their first European trophy in more than six decades in 2022.
The former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager holds an impressive record of winning a trophy at every club he has managed apart from Tottenham Hotspur so far in his career. And it seems, he’s still hungry to collect more winners’ medals.
According to BILD’s Christian Falk, Mourinho has set his sights on FC Bayern Munich and is accordingly learning German. He has flirted with the managerial position at the club in the past as well. It’s added that he would like to win the Bundesliga, having already won league titles in Portugal, England, Italy, and Spain.
Mourinho will not have to learn a new language to communicate with the side’s best player, Harry Kane. The pair worked together in Spurs before the Champions League winner moved to Roma. Eric Dier, who was a regular fixture in his squad, also recently moved to Munich.
The manager’s position at Bayern is not vacant yet, but the way Thomas Tuchel is leading the squad, there’s no guarantee the situation will remain the same come the end of the season.
Despite boasting the strongest squad in the league, Tuchel is trailing Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen by five points at the top of the table.
