Daniel James could be set for a move to Leeds United as early as January.

The Welsh winger begun his Man Utd career with a goal against Chelsea on the opening day of the 2019-20 campaign, but has failed to replicate the form of his early days at Old Trafford this season.

In the Red Devils’ first 11 league games, he has only featured in three and hasn’t been directly involved in any goal.

Similar to Daniel James, Leeds United have also failed to live up to the promise shown in the Championship. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have just two wins in their last seven.
As such, both the player and the manager could give a little boost to their season by joining hands next month.

Interestingly, the link up was on the cards in the last winter window as well. Few months before James left Swansea City for Man Utd, he agreed to join Leeds, only for the deal to have collapsed in the final minutes of the deadline day.

The Argentine tactician is believed to be a fan of the pacey winger, and according to the Telegraph, he’s ready to rekindle interest and test Man Utd’s resolve with a January bid.

However, a deal between the two clubs could be tricky to finalize as the Whites are the Red Devils’ old rivals. Nonetheless, since both outfits are fighting for different objectives this season and there’s a good opportunity for the 23-year-old to improve under the coaching of highly respected Bielsa, Man Utd could perhaps be open to permit Daniel James join their rivals on a temporary basis.
