How Man Utd Players Reacted In Dressing Room After Leicester Draw
Bruno Fernandes was ‘really happy’ with the reaction of his teammates following a draw at Leicester City.
Man Utd failed to bag all three points on the road for the first time in the Premier League this season as they were held to a 2-2 draw by the home side on Boxing Day.
Bruno Fernandes as usual was the star of the show for the Red Devils. The Portuguese was directly involved in both goals for his side – assisting Marcus Rashford in the first-half, and scoring the other in the second via a beautiful pass from Edinson Cavani.
However, Brendan Rodgers’ side managed to cancel out the away team’s lead twice through Harvey Barnes’ fierce strike and Axel Tuanzebe’s own goal, and remain a point above Man Utd, albeit having played an extra game.
Though they dropped two points, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players should be content with an overall encouraging display against a solid team, who dominated Tottenham Hotspur before Christmas.
But the former Sporting Lisbon captain has revealed that his teammates were disappointed with sharing a point with the Foxes.
Speaking after the game to MUTV, Fernandes said: “I was really happy when I got in the dressing room and I saw everyone disappointed and saying the things we had to do better. You are creating a winning mentality and we are not happy with this point.”
Man Utd supporters will also be pleased with the shift in mentality of their players, who are clearly not fighting for just a place in the top four this time but are instead looking to challenge league leaders Liverpool.
However, how the players react in dressing room is insignificant if they don’t replicate the same on the pitch, and the Red Devils will get a chance to show both their quality and intent pretty soon against Wolves on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.
