When Will Manchester United Formally Complete The Sancho Deal
Jadon Sancho’s arrival to Manchester United is being touted as a foregone conclusion by now. The murmurs of the recent weeks have indicated that the negotiations have been strong and that all parties involved appear to be reaching some sort of a conclusion.
However, the heaps of speculation almost always defer the timeline. This has created understandable frustration amongst fans. Then again, the ongoing European Championships do further complicate matters, even as club football looks to envision a post-pandemic future in the season to come.
As such, there is a vital update as to when the Theatre of Dreams could expect to see its marquee signing of the window.
As per the Telegraph, Manchester United are expected to “formally agree” to a deal with Borussia Dortmund later this week. Sancho will reportedly cost the Red Devils upwards of £77.4 million.
This figure, if true, speaks volumes as to the sheer amount of negotiation that likely went on behind the scenes. Initial murmurs of any transfer involving the starlet was expected to cross a massive fee.
Having said that, this amount is still a massive pricetag and coupled with his speculated wage package, the English forward will make quite a bit of a fortune from the transfer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær will be understandably excited to get this deal dusted ahead of the pre-season, giving the club a much-needed window of opportunity in which to train and revamp their tactics. If last season’s misses was any indication, the Norwegian will be keen on targeting silverware going forward.
As such, if Sancho is successfully purchased, the gaffer may not have that many excuses if another season ends bereft of a trophy.
