Man United Reach ‘Verbal Agreement’ With Premier League Manager To Replace Solskjaer

Manchester United got humiliated by two of their biggest rivals in back-to-back Premier League games at Old Trafford.

The 5-0 hammering by Liverpool was followed by a calm annihilation by Manchester City on Sunday, as both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola humbled Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and exposed his tactical inadequacies.

The failure to properly utilise the star-studded squad that includes the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho has led to calls for the Norwegian’s sacking. And despite United’s public stance of backing the club legend, it’s being reported that they are working to address the issue.

According to CaughtOffside (via the M.E.N), the Red Devils have reached a verbal agreement with Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers.

The former Liverpool manager, who came close to winning the Premier League in 2014, is ready to replace Solskjaer, although some ‘hurdles’ remain.

United are pushing to bring in Rodgers now, but his preference is to continue at Leicester until the end of the campaign.

Regardless, as far as Solskjaer is concerned, he will remain in charge of United against Watford after the international break. Asked if he is beginning to feel like he is on borrowed time after the 2-0 derby defeat, the 48-year-old told Sky Sports: “No, I don’t start to feel like that.”
