Tottenham Eyeing Summer Move For Man United’s Anthony Martial
The Mirror reports that Tottenham, who were desperate to snap up Martial from Monaco in 2015 only to be beaten by Manchester United, are once again ‘monitoring his uncertain situation’ at Old Trafford.
Martial, who impressed everyone in his debut season, hasn’t been able to grab a regular spot in United eleven under new boss Jose Mourinho this season and the latest report from Mirror suggests Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is willing to offer him an escape route in the summer.
The French forward on Saturday was given his first league start in nearly a month against Watford, scoring one and assisting another, but still has to improve to gain Mourinho’s trust and prove he has a long-term Man United future, the same report claims.
However, Mourinho revealed that it was the hard, silent work in training that convinced him to give Anthony Martial his chance against Watford. And the 21-year-old French attacker took the opportunity perfectly in a performance that may well revive his career at Old Trafford.

Against Watford he consistently raced past several players on the dribble, combined brilliantly with Mata for Man United’s opening goal and then broke at an amazing speed to strike home the decisive second. His standing ovation at the time of substitution was fully deserved.
Martial, who cost Manchester United an initial £36 million, with a further £8m awaiting once he reaches 25 goals for the Red Devils and the same again when he wins that number of caps for France national team, was linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona before Christmas but those rumours died down when the January window opened.
