Huge Blow For Arsenal As Star Playmaker Ruled Out To Face Bayern Munich

The improbable just got tougher for Arsenal as they are without star playmaker Mesut Ozil for Bayern’s visit to the Emirates in the Champions League.
After the drubbing in the hands of Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League at the weekend, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal face a tougher test this week as they welcome Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern side to the Emirates.
The Gunners were atrocious in the first leg of this Round of 16 tie, losing 5-1, leaving themselves very little chance at qualification into the next round.
But Wenger has been upbeat and has constantly spoken about needing his players to give their 100% in this game.
It will be nothing short of a miracle if Arsenal go through as they will have to score 5 unanswered goals if they are to knock Bayern out.
And if it looked impossible before, it has become all the more difficult for Arsenal as they will miss out on their influential star Mesut Ozil.
The German international has been terribly out of form for over a month now and was absent for Arsenal’s game at Anfield nursing an illness.
And it is now revealed that the same illness will keep him out of this game against the German champions.

Ozil was sent home from training last Wednesday after the club doctor confirmed that he was down with flu and it is understood that he is not completely fit to play any kind of a role in this game.
Speaking to the media ahead of this game, Arsene Wenger revealed that Ozil does not have a physical problem and that he should be ready for the game at the weekend.
However, he ruled him out of this Champions League tie.
“I don’t think Mesut Ozil is ready physically to be in the squad tomorrow,” he told reporters. “He should be okay for the weekend. He only had one session yesterday,” Wenger said.
The 28-year old was atrocious in the first leg of the competition and Wenger will hope that his replacement for this game will do better at the Emirates.
