Deal Done – Manchester United Signs Promising Welsh Youngster

Manchester United have completed the signing of the 14-year-old Welsh wonderkid Levent Gundogan – his former club Connah’s Quay Nomads has confirmed.

The young prodigy caught the eyes of the United officials after scoring four goals while playing for a North Wales development squad in a friendly at Carrington. The U-14 was then given a six-week trial and on the basis of it, he was signed permanently by the Devils.

Manchester United’s development squad has been progressing brilliantly in recent years. The addition of highly rated youngsters like Tahith Chong, Nishan Burkart, Joshua Bohui Angel Gomes, and Indy Boonen has further uplifted their reputation in the sport.

Levent, on his part, has been rated very highly by his former club which claims that:

“A very gifted player, who is comfortable up front or in attacking midfield.

“His attitude and commitment to training and the club have been first class and we wish him all the best during his time at Manchester United.”

“Levent is a great example of the pathway for players in the FAW Academy system and the opportunities that are available to players to move to a higher level.”

A statement from the club’s website also states –

“Levent joined the Nomads Academy just over two years ago and has been an ever present in the side and set up. A very gifted player who is comfortable up front or in attacking midfield.”

Certainly a great feat for a club for their stature and a great gesture as well.

It is now expected that the youngster will be slotted into the development squad and will try to get into the Wales’ Under-16 side in the near future.
