Gary Neville Reveals The Two Problems Which Are Frustrating Mourinho

Gary Neville believes that the root cause of Jose Mourinho’s problems at Old Trafford is two fold, as per reports.
The Special One stole the headlines in the Red Devils’ dramatic 1-0 win over Spurs last Saturday, when he ‘shushed his haters’ at the full-time whistle. Gary Neville understands that the Portuguese was taking a direct aim at his critics with his gesture. “Keep your mouths shut, do one everybody,” the former United star said on Sky Sports about what the gesture meant.
Despite starting the season with a bang, Mourinho has been criticized for his style of football and the fact that he tends to have a defensive approach in crunch games, especially against the top Premier League clubs. However, Neville suggests that the Portuguese tactician might be a victim of United’s glorious past, and how Pep Guardiola is working wonders with City.

Neville continued: “I know what I’m doing, I’m a winner… The two issues he’s got at the moment, not issues for him but for other people, is one, history. Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson have shown how the club should always play. Attacking football, entertaining football.
“And also what Pep Guardiola is doing at Manchester City and the style that they’re winning with. So that’s caused him a bit of a problem, perception wise. And he doesn’t like it. He doesn’t think he’s getting the respect he deserves. He does deserve more respect, but his two problems are emotional. Manchester United’s history and Pep Guardiola’s football.”
United haven’t been able to find their feet since Fergie retired in 2013, and this is the first time since then that the Red Devils are actually in contention for the Premier League title, but they are still five points behind Pep Guardiola’s Man City, who have simply annihilated every club they have faced this season.
