Ronaldo Reveals The Strange Nickname He Had Made Up For Rooney At Man United

Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney were perhaps in one of the best phases at Manchester United when they played together under Sir Alex Ferguson.
The duo enjoyed a great bond on the pitch, and gave their all for the club to help them win several titles. In 2009, Ronaldo left for Real Madrid, and in the summer of 2018, he departed from the Spanish capital for Italian club Juventus.
Rooney stayed at United till 2017, before returning to boyhood club Everton for a season. He currently plies his trade in the MLS for US-based outfit DC United.
In a recent interview, Ronaldo hinted that a reunion with his former teammate could be on the cards before their illustrious playing careers come to an end.

“He scored many goals, what can I say? I miss playing with him. The future nobody knows. Maybe we’ll play one day together again,” Ronaldo told Goalhanger films.
He then went on to recall the strengths of Rooney, as he added: “For me, the power of Wayne Rooney is his mentality and strength. He never stops, he always runs, helps the team. He’s a fantastic team player and he scores goals. He scored important goals, for me he’s fantastic.”

The Portuguese superstar then revealed that he had made up a special nickname for the England forward during their time together in Manchester.
“I used to call him, between me and my mates, the pit bull. I remember when he lost the ball he was so powerful, a strong guy, he shoots unbelievable,” recalled the 33-year-old.
Ronaldo will be up against Manchester United once again on Wednesday night, as Juventus collide with the Red Devils in the Champions League group stage encounter at Turin.
