Bruno Fernandes has been awarded the Premier League Player of the Month, yet again.

The Portuguese registered 4 goals and an assist in June from midfield, making him a worthy winner of the prize. This means that Fernandes has now won two consecutive Player of the Month awards.

However, what makes this award special is the fact that the former Sporting Lisbon star is the first United player to win consecutive POTM awards since Cristiano Ronaldo himself back in 2006.

The elite midfielder has put his name amongst one of the very best within months after his arrival. It’s no secret that Ronaldo was a special player for the Mancunians and their new arrival repeating the legend’s feat will definitely boost the positivity amongst United supporters.

That’s not the only replication of the feats performed by former Red Devils the midfielder has materialized, as he equalled Eric Cantona and Robin van Persie’s record of most goal contributions for the Old Trafford outfit in their first 9 league appearances.

Furthermore, United returned from Villa Park with all three points as Fernandes added to his tally of goal contributions.

Yesterday, on his 10th appearance in the Premier League, he added two more goal contributions to his name. This makes the Portuguese international the first United player to register 12 goals or assists in his first 10 league appearances.

Moreover, no player in the history of the Premier League has been involved in more goals in their first 10 games than the ex-Sampdoria man.

The midfielder has clearly had an instant impact under Solskjaer. This has well and truly justified the Old Trafford outfit’s long hunt and massive fee for the 25-year-old.
