GOSSIP: Arsenal Eye Shock Move For Jose Mourinho To Replace Arsene Wenger

The Arsenal hierarchy is reportedly eyeing a shock move for Jose Mourinho, and could take advantage of Manchester United’s uncertainty over Louis van Gaal’s future and his successor.

Yesterday, El Pais reported that Jose Mourinho has signed a £15million worth pre-contract agreement with Manchester United to take over the helm from Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.

However, there’s a new twist in the ‘Jose Mourinho’s next club’ tale.

As per the Spanish news outlet Fichajes, Jose Mourinho could return to London, as Arsene Wenger’s inability to deliver silverware and continuous underachievement may have frustrated the Arsenal board, resulting into the Frenchman being replaced by his arch-nemesis Jose Mourinho.

With Jose Mourinho confirming in an interview with BT Sport journalist Matt Smith that he will return to management in July, United now have a strong rival for the 53-year-old’s signature.

There have been calls to sack Arsene Wenger due to his failure to deliver the league title or the Champions League in over a decade.

Arsene Wenger’s worst enemy is known to be Jose Mourinho, and it would therefore be quite a shock if Arsenal were to sack Wenger and replace him with the Portuguese. Also, the former Chelsea boss has always admired Manchester United as a club, so him opting for the North London job over the Manchester United one will be quite a shock.
