Jose Could Give Up On Pogba And Target Matic Instead
Manchester United’s boss, Jose Mourinho, has warned Juventus that he will not waste time trying to sign Pogba, as per The Express.
The report adds that Jose Mourinho is already eyeing Nemanja Matic, who Jose worked with during his time at Chelsea.
Manchester United have been in pursuit of Paul Pogba for the past month, with the Red Devils already agreeing to a record-breaking transfer fee of €120 million. But, it seems that the Italian Champions are still a little reluctant to let go of their French powerhouse.
As Jose Mourinho has already revealed, he is looking for a fourth summer signing, with a player profile already in mind. The Portuguese manager is impressed with the work that the club officials have done so far – by securing the services of Zlatan Ibrahimović, Eric Bailly, and Mkhitaryan.

Mourinho has stated that United’s work in the transfer market is already 75% done, meaning the Pogba is the final piece of the puzzle.
The Express claim that since the Pogba deal is being delayed, Jose is beginning to set his sights on Nemanja Matic.
The Serbian defensive midfielder has a similar playing style to Pogba, although he is four years older than the Frenchman. Also, Matic was part of the Chelsea 2015-16 squad that failed to retain the Premier League title, after a disastrous start to the season – which saw Jose Mourinho sacked as Blues manager.
It is believed that the whole transfer saga surrounding Pogba will be over by the end of this month. Of course, Mourinho is aware that he has until 31st August to make changes to his squad – meaning that there is still hope to see Pogba is the famous red shirt this season.
“We would like the fourth signing as soon as possible but [if it takes] until the 31st of August that’s fine,” Mourinho stated during a press conference in Shanghai.
