Jeremy Menez Loses An Ear During A Preseason Friendly
Former Milan player, and recently signed Bordeaux player Jeremy Menez, suffered a horrific injury while making his debut for Bordeaux in a pre-season friendly today.
The 29-year-old Frenchman completed his transfer from Serie A club AC Milan to Ligue 1 club Bordeaux just two days ago.
In the pre-season friendly game against fellow French club Lorient, the forward had to come off injured after losing part of his ear in an unspecified incident during the second half.
It looked like the wedge of Jeremy Menez’s ear was ripped from the side of his head, after an opponent’s studs landed on it, tearing the wedge off.
The club has released an official statement about the French forward’s injury.
They said: “Jeremy Menez had an ear cut off during the encounter against Lorient, which led to his premature exit in the 77th minute.
“The medical staff will take a surgical opinion on whether to operate on the new Bordeaux player.”
We wish Menez a quick recovery from this horrific injury.
