Mino Raiola: Ibrahimović’s Heart Is Still With Milan

Dutch super-agent Mino Raiola spoke about Manchester United’s summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimović in a recent interview, and revealed that the Giant Swede will always be an AC Milan player at heart.

Raiola revealed that Zlatan would have preferred a move back to Italy, but Milan were not able to meet the 32-year-old’s wage requirements, and consequently, he opted for a reunion with Jose Mourinho.

Ibrahimović spent two years with AC Milan before he completed a €20 million move to the French capital, where he saw out the length of his contract before joining Manchester United this summer.

Since his arrival in Manchester, he has already begun showing off his world-class talents, despite claims that he was ‘too old’ for the current Premier League. He has scored 4 goals in four appearances for United, and looks on course to lead the Red Devils to their first Premier League title in three years.

Zlatan, who dubbed himself ‘The God of Manchester,’ still has a big place in his heart for AC Milan, according to his agent, Mino Raiola.

Raiola spoke with Premium Sport: “I’m happy for Ibrahimović and Pogba. They’re hungry for victories and there’s a winning project at Manchester United.

“Italy can’t afford Ibrahimović,” he added. “Milan are the club in his heart but his future was on a different path.”

Raiola didn’t exactly specify which Milan the Giant Swede was attached to, however, it is safe to say that Raiola is referring to AC Milan, because in 2012, Zlatan claimed that he is in love with AC Milan and that is where he feels at home.

The ex-Sweden international said, per ESPN: “I love Milan. I liked it and I felt at home there. This is a club where I could imagine going back if I had to choose.

“I want them to succeed in all competitions. I hope that the club will be better. But if they need help, they know where I am.”
