Manchester United Asked To Pay £53m For Midfield Target
Monaco have warned Manchester United that they will need to cough up a mammoth £53 million to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The young defensive midfielder has impressed one and all with his top level performances this season, which have managed to grab the attention of several European powerhouses, including Premier League giants Chelsea, Manchester City, amongst others.
However, the Red Devils are believed to be the front runners in the race for the 22-year-old, as Jose Mourinho continues his search for the perfect replacement for the ageing Michael Carrick.
Furthermore, with Morgan Schneiderlin already having parted ways with the Old Trafford outfit, and the futures of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Marouane Fellaini still very much in doubt, signing a central midfielder is apparently the Portuguese’s topmost priority.

Amid all the speculation surrounding Bakayoko’s future in the Ligue 1, Monaco have warned all the interested suitors that the only way to convince them to part ways with their talented starlet is by paying up a transfer fee of £53m.
That wouldn’t be too big a hurdle for the likes of Manchester United, however, given their enormous financial resources, and the French youngster himself being keen on a move to a big club.
Bakayoko was recently asked about the interest in him from the Premier League by French newspaper Le Parisien, to which he replied: “I am very happy in Monaco. This club has brought me a lot. Today, I want to focus on this season. We’ll see after. I hope I sign in a big club.”
