Agent Claims Robert Lewandowski Will Turn Down Manchester United Offer

Robert Lewandowski’s agent has distanced his client from a rumoured summer move to Manchester United, insisting the striker is happy at Bayern Munich.

Reports had earlier hinted that Manchester United were lining up a sensation summer bid for the Polish star after failing in their attempts to secure a deal to sign Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, but agent Maik Barthel has made it clear that the Bayern marksman is not at all interested in filling a void for Jose Mourinho.

“Does any top player in the world want to be a plan B?” he replied when questioned about the rumour by ESPN, with a quick response to the idea that the Manchester giants may switch their focus to Bayern’s leading strike force after an unsuccessful attempt to land Griezmann.

Lewandowski extended his contract with the German champions last December and also expressed his desire to remain with the club for an extended period.

“This club gives me all I need to make my dreams come true,” he stated. “There are new challenges ahead of us.”

“Bayern are one of the best clubs in the world and on par with Real Madrid and Barcelona.

“A move for me would not mean a step up. We can win every trophy. Besides, I feel very comfortable in Munich.”

The Lewandowski to Manchester United reports always appeared to be a bit speculative, with Mourinho’s interest in Griezmann seeming far more credible after Old Trafford sources publicly expressed their desire to sign the Frenchman this summer.

The Red Devils are also linked with Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe. They would surely have more luck with Mbappe, but the Ligue 1 side would hold out for a hefty fee and there are still doubts over Anthony Martial, their last young striker signing from Monaco.
