Tottenham’s Harry Kane is easily one of the hottest properties in the industry, and there is no denying the fact that a number of top European clubs are vying to acquire his signature, with Manchester United being one of them.

And now, former Arsenal striker Paul Merson has said that Kane could make a move to Old Trafford this summer should Zlatan Ibrahimovic makes an exit from the club.

Zlatan, 35, has been a complete revelation for Manchester United this season, scoring a whopping 17 league goals and further assisting 5 strikes. However, his future at the club is still not secure, and many rumours have suggested that he could leave the premises should they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

And in that case, Harry Kane will be Manchester United’s top priority. In Harry Kane, United will get a long-term replacement, and a guarantee of getting goals. The 23-year-old has proven his worth yet again, as he has bagged 20 goals this term, and without a slightest of doubt, he will match the boots of Zlatan Ibrahimovic soon or later.

“Then you look at Zlatan Ibrahimovic. To do what he has in this league at 35 is amazing. He’s carried Manchester United this season,” wrote Merson in the Daily Star.

“But he won’t be sticking around if he doesn’t think they can win the title. He won’t want to end his career as a nearly man. If he goes, I think Harry Kane will probably go to Manchester United as his replacement. I don’t see how Tottenham could turn the money down because they’ve got to pay for their new stadium.”
