Jose Mourinho is reportedly looking to sabotage Liverpool’s pursuit of Lyon star Nabil Fekir.

Fekir has been tremendously impressive for the Ligue 1 outfit this season, having bagged 22 goals and 8 assists in 38 appearances for the club.

His antics have managed to attract a lot of attention from all across Europe, with some of the biggest clubs on the continent believed to be interested in his services.

However, amongst all the interested parties, Champions League finalists Liverpool have been repeatedly dubbed as the consistent frontrunners in the race to sign the 24-year-old, with some sources even claiming that a £60 million deal has already been struck.

According to Italian outlet Tuttosport, the Portuguese tactician is prepared to sabotage Liverpool’s pursuit of the France international, in order to lure the player to Old Trafford instead.

The report indicates that Mourinho is ready to offload Anthony Martial, who has been out of favour at the Mancunian outfit for a while now, in order to garner funds as well as make room for Fekir in his squad.

Despite his impressive displays, the former Monaco starlet has failed to receive regular game-time at United, which seems to have prompted him to secure a summer exit, with a host of powerhouses vying for his signature.

With several sources hinting at contrasting possibilities, how things eventually end up for the French duo as well as the two Premier League powerhouses involved remains to be seen.
