United Will Try To Sign Saul Niguez And Erling Haaland For Solskjaer

United owners the Glazers will back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his attempts to land Saul Niguez and Erling Braut Haaland, according to the Daily Mail.

The fact that Romelu Lukaku and Ander Herrera were allowed to leave in the summer with no replacements lined up has certainly affected the consistency of the Red Devils’ performances this season.

Solskjaer had hoped that Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial would do Lukaku’s job perfectly, but constantly shuffling them between positions seems to be taking a toll on at least one of their consistency at a time.

Meanwhile, in midfield, all creativity has been lost since Paul Pogba suffered an injury. Andreas Pereira hardly looks reliable as he struggles to find a grip in the intensity of the Premier League.

Nemanja Matic, on the other hand, has been a missing man on the field after falling down the pecking order since the new gaffers arrival and Fred seems to be too inconsistent as of now to be given a permanent starting spot.

However, it seems like United are prepared to address all these issues and bring the big guns out during the January transfer window.

Interest in Haaland was reported over a month ago as reports suggests he had already visited Carrington with his father to gauge their facilities. It is believed that the striker has a meagre release clause of £17 million, but due to the interest from many of Europe’s elite a bidding war may inflate that figure exponentially.

But there is a belief that the gaffer’s ties to Molde could ease United’s hurdles in signing the Salzburg starlet.

Saul is also one of the Mancunians’ biggest candidates to pair Pogba up with in midfield. Since Matic looks set to depart Old Trafford soon, a defensive midfielder like the Atletico Madrid star is a requirement that cannot be left ignored.

The Spaniard recently committed his future until 2026 with a release clause of £135 million.

Nevertheless, the Manchester outfit are confident they can land both signings, especially with investments coming forth from the owners. The former Cardiff City manager believes landing the pair would offer his side all the firepower they need to turn this season around.
